2 Months

Hey everyone!  Mo here!  Sorry I haven't updated in a long time.  To be honest, I just haven't had anything to report.  I have been getting bigger and stronger.  I have all of my fur now as well.  I have so much energy and I love to run around and play with my Boston Terrier brothers.  I have really taken a liking to Dexter.  Brittny tells me he is blind but that doesn't stop me!  We play all the time!  I also love to tuck my tail between my legs and run around the house.  Everyone likes it when I do that.

I am going to the vet on Friday for my second skin scrape.  My siblings have all gone before me because Brittny couldn't make it to the vet because she has been very busy.  They all had skin scrapes done and I guess they still had dead mites.  Which is good!  As long as they aren't alive!  My last one had dead ones too so that was very good.  I will see what the doctor tells me on Friday.  I also can't wait to see how much weight I have gained in two months as well.

I have been learning new commands as well.  I am very food motivated!  So far I can sit, shake, high five, lay down, and I know what stay means!  She makes me sit and stay while she feeds me and once I have waited long enough, she says, "Go get it!" and I tell you what, I get it!!

I have been sleeping in bed every night with my foster parents and I have been keeping my kennel dry.  I also have been good about going potty outside except if she doesn't let me out every two hours, I might make a puddle.  Sorry!

I will leave you now with some pictures of my progress.

Livin' the Pug life

Hey friends!  Sorry I haven't updated my blog in a long time.  There just hasn't been too much to write about these days!

I'm still taking my special baths.

I had my one month check up awhile back.  It came back great!  It was a negative scrape which means I have zero live mange mites on me.  This is pretty awesome news.  Even though I look awesome, I still have a long ways to go before I can be up for adoption.  My dad, Spike, is up for adoption now!  Which is great news!  For my brother, sisters, and I we might not be up for adoption considering we are all at different stages in our healing.  I hope we can all stay in touch as a Pug family with their new homes when that happens!

I love sitting on my foster moms clothes while she gets ready for work.

I still have to take medicine.  I'm still taking my liquid medicine once a day.  I still get my special baths.  I still get medicine in the folds of my face and ears.  I still have fish oil as well.  Whew!  It's a work out but my foster mom has me on a great schedule so even though this is a lot to remember, it has become a habit.

I get pimples on my face sometimes.

I really don't like this winter stuff.  I have been going potty outside with my foster brothers but if I am left more then two hours without a potty break, I will tinkle the floor.  My foster mom says that is her fault.  Sometimes when I have to pee so bad, she will pick me up and I will tinkle a little.  She says this is weird but I really have to go!!  So I have went potty on her a few times.  She just washes up and says it's okay.  Where was I.. Oh yeah!  Winter!  It's no fun!  We have been having a lot of these things call blizzards and we get a lot of snow.  My foster parents have to shovel the backyard so we can all go potty.  Otherwise we sink and it makes going potty impossible.

Snow day!!

I have been playing a lot!  My foster brother, Howie, is so much fun!  We play for hours and hours.  They say we are best friends.  I play with my foster brother, Bosley, as well.  He isn't a huge fan of puppies I guess but he will play with me from time to time.  He secretly likes me.  Click here for a video of me playing tonight.

So sleepy.

I have been sleeping in bed with my foster mom.  I don't keep my kennel very clean and dry but I don't potty in the bed!  I like to sleep on their pillows when they sleep.  It's my favorite.

Another bath?

I can't wait for this thing called Spring.  I guess all the cold white stuff melts and everything turns green.  Best thing about it, I can spend more time outside playing and seeing new people and things.  We spend a lot of time inside.  Then I am forced to take pictures with my foster mom.  She says she does it so everyone can see how much better I look!

She is my favorite.

I just wanted to let you all know that I am still here.  Still getting stronger and healthier.  I weighed 9lbs at my last vet appointment.  My foster mom says I won't be a very big Pug.  A micro Pug.  She likes that.  I have been learning tricks.  Not only can I sit but I can lay down and shake.  I am very treat motivated and I get so excited when I see that treat!  She asks me to lay down and I collapse to the ground.  Tail wagging like crazy.  I just want that treat!!

Here's my Pug family one month later.

Family reunion!  Left to right.  Spike (dad), Gladys, Gizmo, Ivy, and myself.

Kissing my brother, Gizmo.

Until next time!

One Month

Hey guys!  Mohawk here.  I have been in foster care for one month as of today!  I can't believe how fast the time as gone here.  It seems just like yesterday I was sitting in a kennel at the rescue, meeting my foster mom for the first time.  I couldn't see, covered in bleeding scabs, I smelled horrible due to the yeast infection that covered my entire body, had little fur, my skin was pink and hot to the touch.  Now I am active, furry, and I smell good!

Day 1 (upper left) Day 7 (upper right) Day 14 (lower left) Today (lower right)

Day 1 and 1 month later

It's breath taking when you look at these photos side by side.  I don't even remember looking this way and neither does my foster mom.  She says it's best that I don't remember.  I wasn't doing well at all.  I could have crossed the rainbow bridge if it wasn't for 4 Luv of Dog Rescue.

I'm too cute for my own good.

Things have been going great here!  I have been catching on to my potty training.  I've been doing so well in matter of fact that I have been sleeping in bed with my foster parents!  It's so great snuggling up with them on their pillows and waking up next to them.  My foster brother, Bosley, isn't too excited about it.  I guess I sleep where he usually does.

Sharing a toy with Howie.

I have to go to the vet tomorrow with my foster brother Clyde.  I need to get my 1 month check up.  They are going to look at my eyes again.  Remember they had ulcers really bad?  They are much better but still slightly cloudy.  I also need to do a skin scrape.  I don't know what that is but I am nervous.  Hopefully it doesn't hurt.  I also have a lump on my side.  I don't know what it is but I hope it's nothing.  I heard Brittny talking about me getting neutered.  I don't know what that means either.  I will find out though!

My first Greene.

So good!

Clyde, Charles, and myself.  All being fostered with two different rescues.

I have to sleep on my foster mom.

I also love to sit on her shoulder like a parrot.

One month photo and I am looking mighty fine!

Squishy fuzzy wuzzy Puggie.

Until Next time!!

Progress

Hey friends!  Sorry I haven't written in almost a week.  I haven't done anything too major these days.  Just been staying inside where it's warm and hanging out with my foster mom and my foster brothers.

I'm still doing my baths

I have been keeping up on my medications.  Ivermectin once a day.  1000MG of fish oil daily.  Baths with Malaseb medicated shampoo every other day.  Neopoly Bac eye ointment now once daily.  Trizultra + Keto in the folds of my face and ears twice a day.  Mometamax once daily in the folds of my face.

I'm starting to become fuzzy

I'm really starting to look like a completely different Pug from when I first came into foster care almost four weeks ago.  Brittny looks back at photos of me at day one and she doesn't even remember me looking that way.  She says it has been hard work but the results are simply amazing.  I wonder what I will look like in another four weeks.

Why can't I join you?

A few days ago Brittny came home from work and she really wanted to take a bath.  She was laying there with her eyes closed and I wanted to make sure she was okay!  She opened them and there I was, sitting on the edge of the tub watching her!  She was shocked to see that I didn't fall in the water!  I kept walking back the forth and the edge and she was laughing at me, calling me a cat.  What's a cat?

My face is getting darker every day.

I have been doing better with making yellow snow outside.. as long as it isn't -35.  On days that it's very cold, I don't do so well.  On warmer days, I go without a problem!  She will show me a treat, I potty, I get treat!  Awesome!  When it's very cold, I'd rather skip the treat.  My kennel was dry for 2 nights in a row so Brittny brought me to bed with her!  We slept for five hours and then I woke her up with my wiggling next to her.  She brought me upstairs so I could go potty but Zach came home from work and he brought me outside.  It was perfect timing.  She went back to bed without me.  I like to spend time with him too.  I haven't been in bed since because I have been making accidents in my kennel again.

I went on my first road trip yesterday.  My foster parents went to the place they grew up so they could work on a car and visit.  I guess he's Zach's dad.  He was really nice and he said I look very good, even though I'm a Pug.  I think he was trying to say Pugs look funny.  We were in a warm heated garage as they worked on the car.  My foster mom held me so I wouldn't get into anything.  I would fall asleep while she held me so after awhile she would put me in the car to sleep.  My foster brothers Bosley and Howie were sitting in the car too.  I did really well.  Car rides are pretty neat!

I would love to get together with my Pug family again sometime soon.  It has been a long time since we were all together.  Maybe we can plan something in the near future so everyone can see photos of how much we have improved.  Oh, and so I can play!  I really like to play with toys.  My favorite would have to be a fleece rope that Brittny made.  I suppose, I should let you all go.  See you guys soon.

Pug's Day Out

Hello again.  It has warmed up a lot today!  It's much better then the -40 weather we have been having the past few days.  Brittny's car said it was 32 today and that felt nice!  It really helps me with the potty training.  I don't mind being out there so much now.

We decided to have a Pug's day out.  It would be nice to get us all together again (meaning my Pug family) but we will have to plan a play date in the future.  It will be nice to see how much we have all improved.  Speaking of improvements..

Look at how much my brother Gizmo has improved after about 17 days of treatment!  He looks like a different dog now!  It's awesome.  Go Gizmo!!

He looks great!

Back to the Pug's day out.  I got to hang out with my sister for about two hours today.  It was really great to see her again!  We went to PetSmart first.

Here we go!

While we were there our foster moms saw some friends of theirs.  They were very nice and we liked to play with them.

Jordan and Bailee

We went to the back of the store and we ran and ran together!  It felt good to have a large open space to do this.  The house I live in is a good size but there was so much more room there!  I could run outside but I get cold too fast.  After we ran around we went and looked at the cats for adoption and afterwards we looked at the fish.

My sister Ivy.

They have big eyes like me!

We spent a long time there and then we decided to leave.  My foster mom bought me this hat before we left though.

Cool, huh?

We then went to this place called Natural Pet Center.  We saw some more cats there for adoption and we got to meet a few more nice people.

My rescue!

Ivy and myself with our foster moms.

Then we decided to go home.  It was just what we needed to play ourselves out and get some socializing done.  It's was a great day.

I also had my eye check appointment on Friday.  That went really good.  They said my eyes are looking so much better and my fur is starting to grow back nicely.  I still need to continue my eye meds for another two weeks and then I will need to go back again.  They said I might always have a little bit of cloudiness to my eyes since they were so bad and didn't get the treatment I needed right away but I can see pretty good and that's all I really care about.  If I have to have a little bit of a cloudiness to both eyes for the rest of my life that's okay.  It could always be much worse.  Believe me, I have been in some bad situations already in my young life.

At the vet getting my eyes looked at.

That's all I really have for now.  See you guys later!
